Ellena Steiner
Lawyer
Founder of SLG Canada, Ellena Steiner maintains its corporate & commercial practice. In Canada and internationally, she has been involved in a variety of public M&A transactions, banking and finance, corporate organizations & restructuring projects. In addition, she continues advise private clients and corporations in international business, immigration, real estate, wills & estates, and commercial litigation matters.
Outside of SLG, Ms. Steiner's 30-years of experience include nearly a decade at the then-Prominent Canadian Law Firm of Goodman & Carr, in-house counsel to an International Financing Company (MDMT Group), and having served as Associate Editor for the Banking and Finance Law Review.
Ms. Steiner completed her LL.B. at Osgoode Hall Law School, in Toronto. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; the Canadian Bar Association; the Ontario Bar Association; Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association (CERBA, Toronto Chapter).
She is also a former director of the JRCC, and member of Canada-Russia Economic Forum.
A native English speaker, she speaks Russian fluently, and is comfortable conversing in Hebrew, Ukrainian, and Spanish.

Tais Davis

Tais Davis has been working in real estate law since 1981. Today, her practice encompasses construction, condominium, development, financing, leasing, and transactional work. In addition, she has a breadth of experience in M&A transactions with a special focus on asset and share purchases. Her expertise in both commercial and residential projects has led to work regularly with prominent Canadian and International developers, as well as with all major Canadian Banks and B-lenders. Having published a number of articles aimed at navigating real estate law, she is regularly invited to speak for brokers and other professionals on trending legal topics.
Tais earned her LLB at Osgoode Hall Law School (Toronto). She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; the Canadian Bar Association; and the Ontario Bar Association.

Vitaly Timokhov

Vitaly Timokhov is a Canadian lawyer practicing taxation in Toronto, Canada. Vitaly is admitted to practice law in Ontario, Alberta, and New York State. A recipient of Newton Rowell Scholarship awarded by the Lieutenant-General of Ontario, Vitaly studied law at Queen’s University Faculty of Law, from which he graduated in 1999 as a published tax author and a recipient of Canada’s National Tax Award. After articling with a leading Canadian law firm in Toronto, Vitaly continued to study taxation as a Gerald Wallace Scholar at New York University School of Law’s renowned LL.M. Program in Taxation. During that time, he was appointed to serve as an Editor of the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics.
Vitaly is an author of one of the leading treatises on international taxation published in Canada and the U.S. by Carswell Reuters (see Book and Publications below). Vitaly has also taught taxation as an adjunct professor at the Osgoode Hall Law School (Toronto) and Queen’s Faculty of Law (Kingston).

Olha Moroz

Olha maintains a general practice in both litigation and transactional matters, specifically private corporate-commercial, estates administration, and real estate. As a dual Canada/USA JD of the Universities of Windsor and the Detroit-Mercy, Olha has been exposed to the intricacies of navigating cross-border matters for several years. To better do so, she obtained a General Civil Mediation Certificate approved by State Court Administrative Office in Michigan, and has performed numerous contract mediations including employment disputes.
Throughout law school Olha worked in pro-bono and legal aid clinics both in Canada and U.S., learning skills necessary for cross-border practice. Olha obtained her Honours B.A. majoring in Economics and Political Science from York University, Toronto. Olha is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian.

Kateryna Tervinska
Sr. Legal Clerk
Kateryna Tervinska works as a law clerk at our firm. Mainly she assists Ellena Steiner in corporate and commercial field. She provides prompt help with drafting necessary legal documents, corresponding with clients, managing incoming mail and emails, and schedule management. Kateryna has graduated from a four year program with Bachelor degree in Foreign Linguistics (Translation Ukrainian/English), obtained in Zaporizhzhya National University in Ukraine. While studying, she worked as a translator’s assistant at the Safo Agency. She dealt with agreements, business plans, certificates and corporate documents.
When Kateryna came to Canada she decided to pursue a new career in a legal field. She graduated with Honours from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, having completed a two and a half year program. She did field placement at the Law Offices of Ellena Steiner during 2013. Kateryna has joined the Law Offices of Ellena Steiner after graduation and now she complements our highly professional team. Her legal knowledge and enthusiasm serve our clients perfectly. Ms. Tervinska is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian and has a working knowledge of French.

Vera Koroleva manages our Toronto office. She is responsible for the PC Law bookkeeping and administrative office support at our firm. Her experience includes providing clients with qualified guidelines, accompanying, and following-up on the wide variety of clients’ issues related to the communication with the governmental Canadian authorities, private organizations and companies.
Tatiana Fedorova
Immigration Consultant
Tatiana Fedorova is a certified immigration consultant in our office. She is responsible for the support of the immigration law practice. She has experience in all Canadian Immigration and Citizenship matters. These matters include the preparation and submission of applications for permanent residence, work and study permits, labour market opinions, temporary resident permits, sponsorships, and others. Leveraging her interpersonal and communication skills, Tatiana effectively connects with our clients to deliver personalized solutions that meet their needs. Prior to joining our firm, Mrs. Fedorova earned her degree in Foreign languages (German, English) in Russia. After that, she continued her study and received her law degree from the Economics Academy in Russia.
Upon her immigration to Canada in 2014, Mrs. Fedorova graduated with Honours from Academy of Learning College, having completed an Immigration consultant program in 2016. Since joining SLG, Tatiana has successfully processed files for clients from Eastern Europe, South America and Eurasia.

Max Steiner
Student-at-Law
Max completed the joint JD/MBA program at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, where he graduated with a specialization in Real Estate and Infrastructure. Max previously worked for GWL Realty Advisors in Industrial and Office Asset Management and Percy Ellis Holdings in Multi-Family Development Management. In addition to his real estate experience, Max co-founded one of Canada’s largest retail precious metals dealers.
At Osgoode, Max was Co-President of the JD/MBA Students’ Association and a Fellow of Osgoode’s Hennick Centre for Business and Law. At Schulich, he was an executive of the Real Estate & Infrastructure Club as well as an advisor for the York Consulting Group. In his final year, Max consulted for an international specialty automotive-parts manufacturer as part of Schulich’s Global Leadership Program. Prior to attending law school, Max graduated cum laude from York University with a specialized honours degree in philosophy. He also holds a General Certificate in Professional Ethics and is a licenced real estate salesperson. Outside of the office, Max enjoys brewing, fishing, and reading non-fiction.
